Touch Response Sensitivity. The Yamaha PSR E413 has touch sensitive keys that adjust the sound volume up or down according to how hard you hit the keys. The effect is adjustable in 3 steps, from low to high sensitivity to allow you to adjust it according to your playing preference.

Yamaha Learning Suite uses the built in song database to teach you how to play each song. You select the song you want to learn, the part you want to work on (right hand, left hand or both), and one of three different lessons (play the correct notes, play the correct notes with correct timing, play the correct notes with correct timing along with the song) and begin. Each note is displayed and the system waits until you play the correct note before continuing. At the end of the lesson you are given a rating on how you did so you can check your progress.

12 Drum Kits including Standard Kits 1 and 2, Room Kit, Rock Kit, Electronic Kit, Analog Kit, Dance Kit, Jazz Kit, Brush Kit, Symphony Kit, SFX Kits 1 and 2.

5 song recorder allows you to record 5 melody tracks and 1 style (chord) track. Easy to use recording facility which lets you play back on the keyboard or upload recorded songs to a PC.

Split keyboard function lets you play different voices with the right and left hands.

Fully adjustable Metronome lets you set tempo, number of beats per measure and the length of each beat.

The Pitch Bend wheel lets you add smooth pitch variations to the played notes. You roll the wheel upwards to raise the pitch and downwards to lower the pitch.

The Arpeggio Function lets you create arpeggios (broken chords) by playing notes on the keyboard. To use it you turn on the arpeggio function and select one of the arpeggio styles. As you play a variety of phrases are created. Some of the voices are designed to work with the arpeggio function which will be automatically turned on when you select these voices.

Performance Assistant technology lets you play like a professional even if you are just beginning. You select a song and play the keyboard, performance assistance corrects any wrong notes.

Live Control Adjustment. Different effects can be assigned to the two live control knobs to add variations to the sound played. These effects include filter, which filters the range of frequencies to create synthesiser like sounds, reverb to emulate a concert hall, envelope generator to determine how the sound level varies over time and tempo to increase and decrease the tempo of the current style.

Pros:
Adjustable touch response sensitivity lets you adjust the sensitivity to suit your playing.
Good for beginners as it includes learning software but the many functions make it also suitable for more advanced players.
Good value. A lot of features for the price.

Cons:
No MIDI interface.
Power adaptor is not included. Make sure you order one or you'll be stuck using batteries.
